Firefighters raced to rescue a man from a flat fire in Warley.
Yesterday around 3:38pm, fire crews rushed to the scene on Britannia Road, where they found the man inside his heavily smoke logged ground floor flat.
Firefighters were first alerted to the fire after his neighbours heard smoke alarms going off and called the fire service.
Teams quickly worked to extinguish the fire by 3:55pm and the man was rescued, before being taken to hospital.
The flat suffered some smoke damage.
