A DEPLETED brentwood Ladies side picked up a 1-1 draw draw with Colchester.

But the men’s hopes of building on last week’s emphatic win over Chelmsford melted away...as the game was called off due to a frozen pitch.

The ladies finished the first half at 0-0, with Lauren Slater controlling the midfield. There were chances for both sides, but the interval came with the game scoreless.

Within minutes of the second half starting, Colchester stepped up their attack, converting from a short corner.

It was a counter-attack that saw Brentwood make the breakthrough to score the equaliser through Lizzie Taylor, with Slater assisting.
