BRENTWOOD cruised past Colchester at the weekend with a convincing 7-1 win in the East Division One.
The home side started with an intensity that Colchester just couldn’t match, with early scores from Ian Forbes and James Duggan giving Brentwood the perfect start.
Brentwood kept the ball well and looked sharp after the month-long Christmas break. However, the away side managed to ride the storm until half-time, keeping the score at 2-0.
The second half only brought more misery for Colchester though, and they soon found themselves 4-0 down with goals from Duggan again and Henry Wollaston.
Brentwood weren’t done though, and a Wollaston hat-trick soon saw the score reach 7-0. The home side where then guilty of switching off and they let in a last-minute consolation goal, meaning Colchester could at least go home with something to smile about.
